There are four types of students going into exam rooms each year. Read this survival guide to figure out which type/level you are and how you can survive the miserable week of exams.
Level 1– You don’t know you don’t know.
Uh Oh! This is the scariest thing that can happen to you. It is hard to tell if you don’t know that you don’t know, but if you are uncertain if you don’t know that you don’t know, you probably don’t know. Anyway, please consider carefully because if you don’t know you don’t know, you can easily mistake yourself and put yourself under category four. And you will definitely fail. But don’t freak out! Take a deep breath. The best thing to do when you are in this situation is to find out what you don’t know – which will bring you to level 2.
- If you are here, you can take mock midyear exams and quizzes to find out exactly what you don’t know, and during this process, hopefully you will learn a lot. Just remember, knowing what you don’t know and learning it is more important than blindly trying to memorize everything.
Level 2– You know you don’t know.
Now that you have an idea of what you don’t know, it’s time to find out the answers!
- Simply do this by reading your class notes and textbook, asking teachers, or searching more on google.ca.
Level 3– You don’t know you know.
If you are in this category, you are very lucky, but you probably don’t know you are lucky. Or you are being modest. You may, however, feel overwhelming stress because you feel like you know nothing even though you studied.
- To assure yourself, you can take practice exams and quizzes, or you can just wing the exam. Either way, you win.
Level 4– You know you know.
Just go take a nap you little overachiever.
